Sunshine September was launched in 2010 by Suria KLCC. It was formerly known as Purple Day, but the purpose has always been the same: to raise awareness about autism and to raise funds for the National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM).
In 2013, Sunshine September grew beyond Suria KLCC to Alamanda and Mesra Mall. All three malls and their respective tenants have been committed to spreading the message of autism throughout the month of September via a variety of events happening on-ground and on their social media platforms.
From 2010 – 2014, our collective efforts have helped raise more than RM 1.4 million total for NASOM. Join us in Kuala Lumpur (Suria KLCC), Putrajaya (Alamanda) and Kerteh (Mesra Mall) this year and find out how you can help NASOM to continue their efforts in early intervention and vocational programs for individuals with autism.
The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) is an NGO founded in 1986 by a group of parents and professionals who aim to provide service and life-long care to individuals with autism. With 19 centres nationwide, NASOM offers a variety of programmes that are results-oriented, with emphasis on the acquisition of skills and changes in behaviour.
